NSGSC Academy

Alistair brings a life-long passion for the game of 'football' that he will use to build a unique development program for the club. Alistair is well-known to the Club membership as he has previously worked for the North Shore Development Centre, and until being hired by the NSGSC on a permanent basis, was in charge of the youth training programs at Douglas College. Alistair has over twenty years of coaching experience and is recognized as one of the top youth coaches in British Columbia. He is universally well regarded as a coach, player and person.

Alistair's focus is to establish a top flight Academy for our club and implement specific development programs. "Having a head coach begin and oversee these programs will allow us to ensure we are getting the best for our players. Alistair's only focus is to run a first rate program" added Jeff Mulock. Alistair will also be overseeing the team based development programs and the methodology and implementation of our select team formation.

The NSGSC Academy coaching staff has abilities to:

  • Identify, develop, monitor and evaluate players in all age groups on a continual and consistent basis
  • Enable emerging talent to develop all of their capacities to their potential
  • Provide emerging talent with the opportunity to train in a structured quality environment with a more challenging level of training and development
  • Improve the quality of players across all levels of the game
  • To monitor and evaluate potential national team players on a structured and regular basis

Coach Alistair says......

At the younger ages (6 to about 10), soccer is not a team sport. On the contrary, it is a time for children to develop their individual relationship with the ball. The fact that younger children are placed into team environments is not their fault. Do not demand that the more confident players ahare the ball. Encourage them to be creative and go to goal.
